York Region Rainbow Umbrella is an open group for LGBTQ+ people in Richmond Hill. Our goal is to provide our community with resources, a safe space and support for all.
We run fundraisers and social events to offer a safe space for creative expression and a chance to give back.
York Region Rainbow Umbrella runs bi-weekly meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month located at the My House Rainbow Resource Center in Richmond Hill, ON.
Featured in the striking photographs are children with ages ranging from newborn to 32 years old. The photographs include a personal quote that allows the subjects to give a piece of advice to other children.
“We are special because we have two dads,” the portrait of 4-year-old Azra and Wednesday reads. “No one can ever discriminate against you if you are proud of yourself. You shouldn’t have to hide,” Jesse states.
